I don't know if it is really that easy, but that is the way I use bluetooth instead USB port from perl-program:

hcitool cc xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
rfcomm bind /dev/rfcomm0 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

That is in n900. Then use device /dev/rfcomm0
