Yeha maenotify, it displays battery charge, signal strength and network provider (handy for letting you know if you've gone to a different one if you set it to Dual), and it gives missed calls with details on the bottom left, emails on the bottom (sadly it doens't include the sender for that) and SMS on the bottom right.

It works well, the only thing to be aware of is if you install it then change your theme it may no longer work, it's a bug of some sort. What i do is uninstall it then install it, seems if you install it over whatever theme you have it works fine.
