I now have Kingston 32GB card and have had the issue with card going read only.

Re-formatted card in n900 and must say "Its not great". If I try and copy loats of data to the card it seems like it works, but when you try and play the tracks, some of the folders are empty. I need to do some more testing, but it seems like the 32GB Kingston cards are not great. Try some other vendor.
