Funnily enough, i tend to use an iPhone style fingertip or even thumbtip splodge to click tiny little links (the thread page numbers on here, fo example) and am amazed at how seldom I have to press back because it's clicked the wrong one, even though when i press the one I want the links either side are also getting touched.

I guess it must go on the centre of the touch, no matter how big, so in that case it's a question of practice..
