I'd give the edge to the N8. Not only is the chipset the latest (faster than what we have even at the same clock speed) but the graphics processor is theoretically 2 times better than what the N900 has.

PowerVR SGX 530 (N900): 14 M triangles/sec
Broadcom BCM2727 (Nokia N8) 32 M triangles/sec
