It's (not a bug it's) a feature and can be switched of in /opt/smscon/smscon.config.

Look for this:

AUTOBATREPORT     = 'yes'
And set it to 'no'

The above is not true!!
In 0.5-9 it this isn't configurable (in upcomming 0.5-10 it will)!
