Why not Symbian?

Now, trying to return to the subject... has anyone tried to compile latest Symbian from sources?
Good question - can be Symbian^3 compiled from the repositories?

Now we know 3 things:
1. Symbian^4 will not exist as a separate version because all the GUI / UX changes will be part of an upgrade to Symbian^3
2. Symbian^3 will be native Qt and will not have other new UI - this means it will be a good platform for developers to test their Qt applications
3. Europe invests $33 Millions in Symbian, its smartphone OS of choice:

This means Symbian^3 will be a powerful version / BASE version - with many upgrades coming - but with no segmentation because Symbian^4 which broke the compatibility is off - which is GOOD.

Did anybody try to compile Symbian^3 on N900?

Thank you,
