In these days I am using pr1.3 without swappolube. I need getting accustomed again to the behaviour of the stock gui. Then, after some days, I'll install swappolube again to see whether it's working significantly for the new version of maemo5 or not. To me, lacking an objective benchmark, it's the only way to go.
I must say, however, that the gui on vanilla pr1.3 is already "lubed" enough for my taste. I am also running the hack described here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=859494&postcount=4 and gui transitions are much sexier
