The only way I know is to connect your modem or router to your LAN then set up an ad hok. network.

But this pages tell you how to do it http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41422 and this is a more technical explanation http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_USB_networking they tell you how to set up a network usb connection between you pc and your N900, you should be able to share your internet conection this way.
