I have a t-mobile blackberry pearl. I have the unlimitted blackberry plan.

I can tether both my 770 with 2007he and my n800 with the pearl.

The issue is performance. I find it is almost useless. If I retry hard enough I can sometimes get web browsing to work. I have not really gotten claws email to work while tethered. I have the best luck with meomo mapper. I have had it download maps while driving around. I have never been able to get it download a route while tethered.

All the above works just fine for when connected through a wifi connection.

I don't have another phone to try with so I don't know if the problem is the blackberry or t-mobile. I have read from others that got it working that they also see slow performance and that they thought it could be the blackberry servers (the ones run by RIM that provide data services for the blackberry phones) getting in the way.

I get a 5 bar edge signal at work and 3 bar gprs signal at home and they both provided the same very poor/useless performance.

I am running the latest firmware from t-mobile on my pearl.

If anybody has any ideas on how to improve my tether experience, it would be appreciated.

Hope this helps.

Ron
