Hi all,

Mobile 3G internet: wonderful thing to have on an internet tablet, even better with a laptop tethered by USB. I can do this with PC Suite (the latest version) in Windows 7 without a hitch - thing is, I don't really like the rest of PC Suite - unnecessary IMHO.

But I can't find a driver on the Nokia websites for the N900 USB Modem driver without PC Suite being bundled. The section that does describe using the USB connectivity of phones only applies to S60 and apparently Windows should recognise the phone and install drivers automatically.

For my N900, it doesn't. No drivers recognised automatically, when connected in PC Suite mode. Is there some magically hidden binary either on the internet or hidden on the phone that contains the USB driver required? I have scoured these forums for the answer but most of the posts are old and don't relate to the newer firmwares/versions of Nokia software.

So rather than resurrect a zombie thread from the dead, I thought I would start a new one

Any ideas anyone?
