*EDIT* Nevermind. Downloaded the new v42 deb, extracted the fiasco image, extracted the kernel, copied to N900, setup a new multiboot item. Reboot, looks like I'm up and running on v42 kernel.
can you give us a little more info here? Id love to copy what you did but i/we might need a little guidance to get there, ive updated to 42 and run the multiboot --reinstall but from what you say more actionsa re needed to get this boot option going....if you could be so kind...

all fixed and booting, repoting right with kernel-config show

embarasingly simple i guess the new flasher wasnt there to be run - lots of new kernel power based bits and bobs came down thankyou! . . .sorry

massive thanks to titan for updating it to include the pr1.3 updates
