It hasn't flashed the kernel. Just installed it.

What does this command give You:

apt-cache policy kernel-power-flasher

It should say:

Code:

kernel-power-flasher:
  Installed: 2.6.28-maemo44
  Candidate: 2.6.28-maemo44

... and so on...

You can install it like this:

Code:

root
apt-get install kernel-power-flasher

Maybe You should just install it through the application manager next time and let it pull all dependencies...
