Here's an iFixit teardown of the Galaxy Tab!

I rather like this. It shows how easy it is to get to the battery if you have the right tools (tri-wing screws and a small pry-bar). I'm no longer worried about changing the battery. While you're not going to be changing the battery on the road, it's still nice to know that you can get an aftermarket battery to replace the old one for presumably less than it would cost to take it to a service centre, and a much lower time requirement as well.

The first kit (pictured) contains the the prybar. For the others, the prybar will have to be purchased separately. This can perhaps be substituted for something thin and sturdy, as it's only required to pry off the battery connector without tearing the wires or damaging the main board.

It's interesting to note, that unlike the iPad this device doesn't have any components that self-destruct when you open the device, so it can be opened quite easily again and again.
