Some apps which work correctly with "Ctrl-Shirt-R" rotation do not seem to work correctly with your method. Examples are: Conversations, email, and Sygic maps.

More specifically: With Ctrl-Shift-R, the screen correctly rotates and is the right shape with no black gaps. With your script, the right half of the screen is missing, and there is a big gap below.

Was wondering if you knew why that was...

Thanks a lot for this, I expecially like the portrait menu, which looks very good.
I have created a hybrid of RotateDaemon and Ctrl-Shift-R. It doesn't have reverse portrait, sometimes gets stuck in reverse landscape, requires some persuasion (lock slider, waving in different directions) to switch between orientations, brings up some strange screen bugs, but it doesn't reboot N900 at all. It never causes N900 to reboot itself, and it uses Ctrl-Shift-R instead of 90 rotation.

Some screenshots attached.

When it becomes less buggy and more workable, I might release it.

If/when I do release it, it will be open-source.
