Uhh, that's odd. They use the same settings both for data and MMS? Well, N900 is designed to be used with an actual data plan and as such it usually tries to refresh package lists et al from repositories when it goes online, and that's probably one of the reasons why there's extra traffic.

It's not the fault of fMMS, that's for sure, rather blame Rogers. You shouldn't have bought a device designed for being online 24/7 if you don't then want to have a data plan on it.
