Hi,
I've been using my N900 for about a year now. A day ago I lost all the telephony services; it appeared ? at random, although it may have been after a software update. Googling around I found a number of posts that indicated flashing the brick might help.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, and the flashing process goes fine, right up to the end, when it reads : CMT flashing failed. It's reset all my applications, but the telephony services remain dead. FWIW, initially the 5 flashing dots on startup were going at a rapid and semi-random rate; they're now back to a sequential pattern.

I can't find any indication as to what's gone wrong. Do I need to use an alternative OS? I've appended the full output.

Reading through it I note my toy has a hardware revision of 2101, which seems to be a fairly early model. Is that relevant?

Code:
~/Downloads$ sudo flasher-3.5 -F ./RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f
[sudo] password
flasher v2.5.2 (Oct 21 2009)
...(removed all the .. valid.. stuff)
