From my paltry understanding of the Law (ps. feel free to correct me):

This is illegal because he's using the Apple logo trademark. He'll likely get a cease and desist letter from Apple's legal department as soon as they find out, leaving him with plenty of inventory (if indeed he's not reselling the cases).

If we were to remove the Apple logo, they would be hard pressed to do anything about it. Of course, they could still sue, and he would have to defend against a multi-billion dollar Juggernaut.
