Maybe... Mine is a new unit and I noticed the usb port is a little bit longer. Which means the port is fitted to the plastic casing hole of the n900 so no matter how I pull the charger up, down, left or right it doesn't strain the port at all because the plastic casing is supporting it. If i'll do physics on this if I pull up or down the charger the port might be ok but the charger connector would bend.
