I use easyplayer a lot. Great directory based player that's pretty quick. Portrait mode is included and it leaves a lot of screen real estate for the actual music (Take a look at symfonie, same kind of player but the button third of the screen is disorganized controls.) Easyplayer is quick and consolidated.
