I believe that the story around instinctiv is mostly link to the release of Harmattan.
From what I understand, because Nokia doesn't want to give a date to Instinctiv or has told them not to expect it before some time, because of that, Instinctiv is holding up their application because they need (big) cash in a near future.

Apart from that, I never expected a lot of support from Nokia given the limited user base. So I am not (too much) disappointed if no PR1.4 will ever come with some more improvements regarding Ovi Maps, Flash...etc...

What I expect however is the presence of Qt attracting developpers. And so far, either it is not working, or they keep it for the release of the next device, or it is on-going.... But as a user, I do not see much from the presence of Qt yet.

My understanding is that N900 is proposed to developpers to prepare the coming of Harmattan/Meego but that does not mean at all that Maemo will receive either more support from Nokia or more commercial apps.
The only thing we can expect is maybe some Qt updates to continue helping developpers to prepare coming devices.
