Here's my find so far:
Acer Aspire 4810T - 349 Euros
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/GRADE...60/version.asp
This model better than a netbook, thanks to 3GB DDR2 RAM and the SU9400 will make things run much more swiftly. It runs on pretty good battery life but this is 14" size so it is more comfortable watching and typing but it is slightly less portable.
What it has over the normal netbook is a webcam, HD screen, HD video playback and Vista Home Premium (you can upgrade to Win7 yourself, buy it or have-friends-that-have-friends)
Acer Aspire 4810TG - 499 Euros

This is exactly the same model I have and I've used it for ~14months (when this processor made it into retail) and it was VERY expensive when I picked it up, this price made me die a little. I highly recommend this one, to be honest. This is exactly the same notebook above (the SU9400 is the SU7300 with 0.1GHz extra) but with better performance 4GB RAM (really helps, any more than 4GB is unnecessary). It can now do some basic games (Quake 4 etc) and also do smooth FULL-HD content because of the ATi4330. It also packs a DVD/CD drive, Bluetooth, extra HDD and Win7 Home Premium. This model is the highest BANG for BUCK - long shelf life!
I think you might be able to pick up a N455 + ION + 2GB RAM + 10" LED brand new for (if you're lucky) about 350 euros.
So the choice is yours my friend
edit: I found this review for a similar/same Acer laptop, I just wanted to show you the portability difference (its thinner and ~same weight just slightly wider and clearly a little longer).

edit2: I also found these ones:
Lenovo IdeaPad U450 - 343 Euros
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Lenov...UK/version.asp
(exactly the same as the 349 euro Acer - but it has 2GB instead of 3GB which will run things noticibly slower however the IdeaPad has a really good quality/build reputation)
if you think 14" is too much there is a 11.6" Acer (i think it is a little large to lug around the 14" but really its not that much larger than the typical 10" netbook). It's called the Aspire 1810T (or the 1410)

It's again much better than all netbooks, it can do HD movies, but its not as good as my 14" model. If you can find it for 300 Euros, in that case, I would definitely say it has more BANG for BUCK than the 4810TG.
and also look out for the ASUS UL80V (or ul80vt)

edit 3: the specs for the Lenovo are not SU7300 (they made a purpose mistake) it is infact SU4100.
The SU4100 was the hi-end culv-processor of last gen. The SU4100 gives you roughly the equivalent (decent) battery life of SU7300 but it gives you worse performance, about the same as the su3500 (slightly laggy at times but still better than N455's).
