Well I have been programming for several years (mainly Python) but I don't really know anything about the hardware side of electronics, so I figured this would be a good place to start.

I have a corn snake so eventually I would like to make some sort of thermostat for controlling basking lights and heat mats but initially I will be just experimenting.
