I think this one solved the same problem I had with unused tags being unable to be deleted just by going to X Terminal and then typing for this: Code: gconftool --set --type list --list-type=string /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags '[]' --remember to have the '[]' in the end before pressing enter, as the "apostrophe" in either side of [] is quite unreadable.-- had done that and the photo tags that I have had which is NOT associated in any of my photos (e.g. either the photo was already deleted) and those typographical tags that I would not like showing up (hence is not used in any of the current photos in my N900) have been deleted in a snap! this may not be the solution that some might be looking for which is to be able to delete tags that they do not want even if it is still being used on a photo, but atleast its quite a workaround on deleting tags that you did not want in the first place (the reason why it is not used).... It worked for me, let me know if it also worked for you
gconftool --set --type list --list-type=string /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags '[]'
gconftool-2 -g /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags
gconftool --set --type list --list-type=string /apps/osso/image-viewer/recent_tags '[Christmas,Fun,Family,Cayenne,FRENCH GUIANA,Home]'
