I will most likely distribute a replacement wlancond executable alone instead of a package in the future.
You can use the same solution for this as the modded hildon-desktop packages use, just use the exact same version number as the official package, but you'll have to instruct uses to pin the package so it isn't automatically "upgraded" back to the official version.
