From that I read, that nobody's done it, yet? Gotta give it a try, once I'm pleased with my setup and made a full backup

b. I would enjoy {hardware keys}/{status bar applet} for modifying brightness of screen and brightness of keyboard light separately.

And being able to modify how the ambient brightness changes screen brightness.

I would like to be able to control brightness precisely, on 255 scale.
Well, there's got to be some kind of treshold somewhere, biggest problem seems to find it :/

c. email seems to be a problem for many people. Would a port of Mobile Thunderbird help you?
Dunno, never been a big fan of Thunderbird, but if it has a more fitting/usable UI than Claws, I might try it - if all breaks, at least mutt should work

Thanks, just what I needed Edit: Doesn't work, nothing's popping up, no matter what I assign and yes, I tried rebooting.

j. apt-get purge <something>
Be careful: if you don't want to ruin Maemo 5 installation, you need to have mp-fremantle-generic-pr installed no-matter-what, so you will have to make some deb tricks (like: empty deb package which provides and replaces ovi store and games and cherry)
Ok, gotta be careful with this one. It would also be enough, to just have it not displayed in the app-launcher, gotta see how to do this, at least 'categorise' doesn't seem to be able to do it.

a) BTW, I noticed, in some list some apps/widgets are listed twice, that's the case here for widget-selection on the desktop and also showed up while I configured the cl-launcher. Any clue on that?

b) is there a size-limitation - besides the obvious 640x480 for the images used in the startup animation(meaning the dots-thingy going left-right-left)? Alternatively, is it possible to change the background to something of my choosing and not being black?

c) people using proximiyd, aren't you using the phone-app, are you ok with apps starting while your using the telephone or is there some other magic involved to not show it in this situation?

d) is it just me or is advancedpower slowing down boot-up(meaning till the desktop is fully loaded)? Is this just poor coding, ie no asynchronous execution or what's the problem here(did't have time to look at the sources, yet)?

Edit 2:Just wanted to mention, since I found a lot of people also experience this problem:

Installing advancedpower on a completly fresh (rootfs&vanilla) PR1.3 fails, as in the battery icon disappears, doesn't come back after a reboot and also nothing related to battery is in the statusmenu popup.

Although listed in it's dependencies, somehow it doesn't fetch advpow-common.

Intalling 'advanced interface switcher' first, solved the problem for me, since this pulled in advpow-common, which in turn enables a successful and working installation of advancedpower. advanced interface switcher can then be uninstalled, if it's not needed.

Maybe that helps someone

Edit 3:Is there no proper replacement for the normal .Xdefaults(/.xressources)? I find it pretty hard to match my colors to the used theme without being able to define hex/rgb values and the "solution" I found regarding the use of gconf seems to be only temporary.
