Stores with rows and rows of modern games that are playable on this handheld device... some people actually pay for new games.

I'm sure it's gonna be locked down like the PS3 was.
And just like that, I have absolutely no interest in it.
I just can't get behind games I played over a decade ago. Memory lane is only so long for me. DOS, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Gameboy Color... even SNK Neo-Geo. I've owned them all, loved them... can rarely say that I miss them to the point I want to relive their past glory on a sub 4" screen for more than 10 minutes a week.

Now, give me a hand-held with a higher-res 4" screen, full ascii keyboard, dual-core processor and a open OS, and I'll think about it. In the meantime, my N900 isn't going anywhere.
Open OS's are great for work. Not so much for play. Great for emulation of decade old games that I actually had time to play back then and finish... a lot.

I'd say that the OpenPandora is more your style. I'm already about about get rid of my Nintendo DSi and PSP for this.
