Yeah, they do that!!

But you know what, I think the "or join" thing is a bit like this too. Just building expectations. By admitting they might "or join" you attract a lot of attention, you make lots of writers and investors happy, and more than that, you make your own employees more concerned that they need to make sure that they are making a good job.

By admitting no alternatives you make your employees less "motivated" (i.e. afraid), make your investors unhappy because it seems like the company is stuck in a single track with no way out, and you make news writers uninterested in you because your fate is sealed. You also pass as arrogant.

The best is to admit the possibility even though you might still be sure inside that switching to android is in fact "a piss in the pants" as the poet used to say.

OBS: Maybe it's all wishful thinking of my part, I want to believe that he didn't really mean that... Who knows?
