So if anyone has an extra N900 circuit board with a blown USB port I would be happy to try the through hole fix and post pics. No warranty or promises on it surviving but I don't see why not. I would like to take a practice run before deciding if I want one to fix for myself on eBay. I have done enough surface mount soldering with radio build projects and now that we have the x-ray shots that I am confident on this.
