Boot to Backupmenu, enable USB-storage mode, then try to list all of the attached harddisks.
This would be the command in linux:

ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid

Find the appropriate folder in MacOs to get the device name right. Then fsck it.
But wait: Isn't there an app in Macland for that???
