It's not as easy as just installing the OpenVPN app / applet.
Read this first. Once you've got it working between a your server and another desktop / laptop, use those settings on the n900.

Debugging a VPN on the phone is a pain - at least for me. I don't feel comfortable without multiple xterms tailing the debug outputs.
