RX was used for Maemo devices. The X may have stood for "experimental" for all I know.

Signs are that MeeGo devices have moved mainstream enough that they will be designated with RM.

the RX-71 seems like a successor to the N900.
That was certainly true two years ago. Whatever it is or was, odds are its hardware wouldn't seem so exciting today.
