I know that you're not comparing it to actual numbers that Nokia has published. So... all I see is still opinion backed by very little else.

Maemo 5 was sold more like some mobile computer than as a phone. Also, right from the beginning, it has been projected only as a developer device. Also when, maemo5 was on market, it was during that time Nokia thought about MeeGo with Intel and so they stopped promoting/advertising (if any) maemo5.

So, direct comparison of numbers here won't help you at all.

For MS, WM7 was pretty damn serious stuff. They spent lot of money on promoting WM7 itself!

You know what the killing part to me is: I like both Nokia & Microsoft but I don't want them to be together on this atleast. Wishful thinking? We will have to wait and see!
