I wouldn't.

I own an Android based phone, had the N900, been testing a WP7 for the last week.

Android isn't as much freedom as Maemo. It's more freedom than iOS. And WP7 feels as restricted as iOS, but with even less features presently.

I wouldn't suggest that you go anywhere but where you're more comfortable.
