They still don't understand that usability is a huge selling factor for mass market. Its not just removing a few annoying dialog boxes for the n8 (how much of the BILLION dollar r&d buget did it take this??). Usability and consistency from the O/S to every built in app..

Imo that's more of post trying to get clicks than anything.
Nokia was working with AVKON, something that was not meant for TS and had huge limits as far as user experience goes. They acquired Trolltech in January 2008 when most Nokia buyers where still happy and sales where great.

The problem is simply that Nokia had taken absolutely huge task with developing the tools to Qt while making it all work for Symbian and MeeGo. It was just too much and took them way too long.
