So I have been on maemo.org since I purchased my N900 the week it was released. It seems to me that everyone was all pumped up on MeeGo and the N9 and I NEVER understood why.

I personally love my N900 and Maemo (it has it's flaws, but no OS is perfect)

What is the big deal about MeeGo? I doubt it will be anywhere near as open as Maemo 5, it won't be as mature as Android/iOS. I never intended on trading in my N900 for an N9, or any phone (well besides this concept: http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/20/t...android-video/).

Was I the only person who bought the N900 knowing exactly what it would deliver? When I first heard about the Ovi store I found it to be comical. Before the official release, I saw other developers porting and developing their own applications for the N900 and that's when I knew this was a device I wanted.

The only reason why I post this is because everyone is all up in debate about MeeGo, the N9, and the new thread, "what was your phone before the n900??"

I really need someone to explain to me this appeal for MeeGo.
