Out of the gate MeeGo is more open. Nokia's "value-add" stuff would be closed, but it would be possible to build stock MeeGo and the device would work.

Nonsense. Android is a black hole in terms of open source efforts, and critically bound to Google. iOS is Apple only.

Was I the only person who bought the N900 knowing exactly what it would deliver?
No, but we always want more, and better.
