This is a case of 2 desperate entities working out a deal to save each other's asses. MS has the 'current' and marketable software, ready... with no market. Nokia has the right market (Customers who don't care about the software/ecosystem), but no 'ready' software... ...and apparently MS is desperate enough to sweeten the deal for Nokia by infusing billions of dollars for this to happen.
