You're an idiot, Starscream. You didn't even have the courtesy to specifically point to a thread or details about the problem.
No I don't have the link, but it was from a response to a post in MoDaCo and the information that Navigate was part of the Os was never corrected by anyone.

So my assumption, which was based on that particular advice, was clearly wrong.

Since I bought my Streak I have reflashed about a dozen times in keeping up to date with the latest version of a custom ROM. As indeed have hundreds (thousands?) of others.

From what I can see with CyanogenMod and the like, a great many users do likewise with their devices.

ROM flashing is now mainstream, thank you for your caveats though.
