You can flash/load three things easily with the flasher:
Kernel (just the Linux kernel, and its modules)
Fiasco (RootFS image - includes the kernel)
eMMC (the /home/user/MyDocs part of the N900's storage - don't touch this unless you're also reflashing RootFS, don't reboot between Fiasco and eMMC reflashes, as that will screw things up - 99% of the time, you don't need to touch the eMMC image.)

He's recommending just reflashing the kernel. What I recommended in the PM convo we had was using the load function, to load the kernel into RAM, and have the device boot with that - if it worked, then flash said kernel and you're done.

You can load the kernel instead of flashing it by using "-l" (<--- lower-case L, not upper-case i.) instead of "-f" when using the flasher command for flashing the kernel.

You can also try to use "-l" to load the entire fiasco image... it might help get you to the point of booting far enough to fix whatever the problem is, but if just loading the kernel works, just flash that and be done with it.
