Despite what people say about Maemo or the N900 - it WAS a hit! Just not quite as big as Nokia wanted it to be.
I mean the N900 can't compete with iOS and Android fart apps crap - it's an intelligent device for intelligent people, how many people using iOS and Android can say they know about openOffice 3.1, debian, ssh, samba? Not many, sure there are a few who do, but percentage-wise about 10% or less is my guess.
The N900? Probably at least 50% of users know about ssh, samba etc. and the apps that are fully featured apps rather than one man band apps like they are on android and iOS.
So what does this mean?
Well the people who bought the N900 (me included - on preorder!), ain't going to buy the WP7 crap, I ain't going to touch anything with WP7 on it.
And the rest of the dumb people? Well they'll be amused by iOS and Android's flashing lights.
The only idiots that may buy it are the Americans - even then they will probably by Android and iOS devices anyway.
In short WP7 is the wrong way to - I can understand that dropping symbian is perhaps the right way to go, but dropping Meego? I don't think so. I was waiting for the Nokia N9 like everyone else on this forum and if it isn't going to materialise it looks like I'll be holding onto my N900 for a little longer and jumping ship to Android.
Elop? You f*cking m0r0n!
