I was anxious about taking the plunge and exposing my N800 to an OS not officially released by Nokia. I spent yesterday watching the ITT threads about OS2008, waiting for someone to complain.

Over 400 postings later, OS2008 on an N800 doesn't appear to have blown up on anyone. I took the plunge this morning. It was relatively easy and straight forward. In the world of UNIX, it doesn't get much easier than that. Installing Openbox/Rox/KDE on a N800 looks far more detailed, so I haven't taken that plunge.

So far, I have no regrets. I might have waited longer, but I think it'll be another month or more before we see an official OS2008 release from Nokia for the N800. I'm excited about my N810 pre-order as well, but I'm hoping OS2008 on my N800 will keep me occupied until the N810 ships (Still no idea when, but told "ETA 11/23" from MCO).
