I didn't know about the hatred for gizmodo. I tend to be technologically agnostic.

As someone else mentioned, the article is written by an ex-Nokian. On the blog that gizmodo got this from, the author says that “Until just a few weeks ago, I was head of design direction for service and user-interface design at Nokia.” I realize an ex-Nokian could be like a jilted ex-friend, but I still thought it was interesting view inside Nokia.

After reading the article, I'm not sure where devices like the n800, n810, n900 fit in the author's view of Nokia. He makes it sound like a place that only makes a product if they will be selling millions.

The article is probably more interesting to me since I am an engineer at a corporation that similarly only makes products if they will be selling millions. I work with designers and see them often lose battles due to concerns over cost.

I'll go back to lurking.
