Is there a plan to implement a "portrait dashboard"?

Let's say there are 3 apps running, phone in portrait mode.

Every time I want to see the dashboard, the app currently running first rotates to landscape mode, and then, the dashboard is shown.

When another app is selected, this app first fill the screen in landscape mode, and then, it rotates to portrait mode.

It would be great to avoid those rotation when going to / coming from the dashboard while in portrait mode.
