However as far as I can tell andriod does not automatcally connect to Wifi! There seem to be many apps you can download from the market to disable and enable Wifi and to connect to particular ones

i dont use wpa2, i use wpa, still the diconectiing problem. i have tried it without any security what so ever, still the same problem.
