How did you actually do it?

Could you help a guy here http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=954986, he's got the hashed lock code but still unable to decrypt it

I myself have tried running John the Ripper but still fails. could you tell me what options should I use?
currently I tried using
and tried with his code, my own code, but still fails
but when I tried with shanttu's code, weird, it works

okay, I admit I did stupid thing (and I believe some of you have done the same exact thing too )
apparently I keep reading "l" as "1", thus making the code uncrackable
