Oh please, that is definitely NOT what happened. WebOS came after several YEARS of "developing" this and that by Palm. When WebOS finally came, it didn't sell and Palm was purchased by HP. If HP will sell anything is for he future to show.

Android is NOT "similar" to Maemo/MeeGo. Android works because Google cut away all Linux stuff.
