Do as 9000 suggested - call your device and block proximity sensor by placing your finger on top right corner - the screen MUST remain black until you remove your finger. If it is showing incoming call screen with your finger ON top right corner - your device is malfunctioning, so you better bring it to repair center.
Ok, I think I got you now. I wouldn't know what the "proximity sensor" is because It seems to not be working indeed. So I now tested the phone with incoming call like this:
I covered with my palm about 2/3 of the right portion of the touch screen, including phone edges (held it tightly basically) and made an incoming call. When the call came the screen DID lit up, ready to be pressed on.

How about warranty? is this something that would be covered? Phone was bought in May 2010, from Amazon.
