Maybe you got a dud? Sounds like there are some serious problems there!

But it's also about personal taste. Personally, (and I'm not just saying this) mine doesn't do any of the things you mention. I'm a noob, so no crazy modding except the downloading of safe stuff from the repositories. Overclocking has not been a consideration for me a) because I don't know what I'm doing and will probably cook the thing, and b) the beast runs just nicely, I don't feel I need to. But like I said, personal choice. I'm sure your new Galaxy will smell sweet coming out of it's box, but I also bet you'll miss your N900 pretty soon too.
