I am somehow surprised to see people comparing N900 with Android devices.
It is obvious that due to tons of people developping for Android, the system is now well established with fluid interface, lots of application and so lots of functionalities.
Google is paying attention to satisfy customers to keep them and to earn money from them.
How come a N900 with almost no Nokia support, a limited user base (probably a million device sold) and no future could compete with Android....!!!

If people wants apps, lots of functionalities, lots of upgrades, then Android is probably the best choice currently.

I personally prefer the N900 not so much for tons of functionalities (but it can do what I want) but because I can play around with tons of hacks (to personalise the device or adding functionalities), because I use it as I am using my computer (I understand better how it works), because there is a nice community (see CSSU as a nice example for that), because it is different from my friends , because it is Linux, because I give then less data to Google, because it is enough fluid for me (with some boost from overclocking and transitions.ini) ...

So if the Meego device offers the same and more - more hardware capabilities, more developpers (one could hope!) -, I will again be attracted. But I will pay a lot of attention to the first reviews and tests

My wife has a HTC desire HD and I have played with it quite a lot. But I did not like too much (admitedly my wife has left the stock rom so it could be probably improved). Apart from some nice apps, I much better appreciate my N900
